Bridgman IBC Limited can now offer doors and doorsets using solid timber and timber-based materials from well-managed, sustainable sources, independently certified by the (FSC) and (PEFC).

Bridgman IBC Limited has implemented a tracking system independently assessed by BM Trada to meet the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody schemes. Concerns that poor management could lead to deforestation and so a responsible approach to timber sourcing by suppliers and manufacturers is essential.

Sustainable timber means that the tree harvested will be replaced by another tree, whether naturally grown or planted. Extraction is compensated for, unlike in the case of most other materials.

Bridgman IBC Limited is a timber based manufacturing company. Some of our products have non-timber faces, edges and beading such as metal, laminate, PVCu and paint, however the considerable bulk of product is constructed using timber based materials.

Life cycle analysis (LCA) research has demonstrated that the environmental impacts associated with the production and use of wood are typically lower than other substitute building materials. Life-cycle analysis is an objective process to evaluate the environmental burdens associated with a product, process, or activity by identifying energy and materials used and wastes released to the environment.

joins battle against ‘Superbugs’
	One of the biggest battles in modern hospitals is the threat of infection from ‘superbugs’. Bridgman IBC Limited is helping in this battle by using Hygienilac wood lacquer to kill most species of bacteria, including the deadly MRSA, Clostridium, Salmonella and E.coli.
